I agreee. Many many requests

I agreee. Many many requests here are about non os programms. Perhaps it would be usefull to remind the user to check if it`s os before requesting.

But

It can also be freeware if it has a un-restrictive license or if you have permission from the author.

I like this site very much

I like this site very much because here are only "premium" apps. Open source and perfect portable and compatible.

However, another project for freeware lead by John would be awesome.

And they would be?

What would that(they) be, since I'm looking into a few and I don't want to overlap.

Freeware would rock indeed.

Freeware would rock indeed. If you need downloadservers why you don`t use services like rapidshare, megaupload and such?

Small suggestion @mods. Why not merge this thread with Un-official Request Apps Guidelines?

Things like rapidshare

expire and are not very user-friendly.
Its not nice if you have to wait 30-90 sec till you get your PortableApp, n'est-ce-pas?

expire - well, I think all

expire - well, I think all applications get downloaded here more then 1 time every day. And expire is only if 30 days no download so I think this won`t be a problem.

rapidshare - ok, bad example them are not user friendly. But it`s also the famos on that`s why I said it.

There are many more free file hosters which are more free user friendly. It`s also not forbidden to use more then 1 hoster for the same file. So 3 mirrors should be more then fine enugh for stable hosting.

Just a suggestion. If you provide a server with direct download I am happy aswell.
