Installing DIVX codecs for VLC

Sorry if it's a noob question, but is there any way I can get DIVX installed with the portable version of VLC? If so any hints on how to do so ? I didn't see anything in the forum or the FAQ page about this. Thanks for any input

BTW: I run portable appos off a 160 gig external hard drive so space is not an issue.

Built In

DivX and Xvid are built into VLC. Unless you're using the newer proprietary DivX codec -- which no one should be, since it's not compatible with anything except the closed-source DivX player.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hi John,

Are the older Divx codecs OK?
If so, how old?

Yours,

Roger

Take a look

here.
They say DIVX (1/2/3) is supported.

My Bad

Sorry about that, apparently it works, but not on all computers, maybe it's a problem with the other comp I was using. Thx for the input!
