Strip useless files from images

I'd love to see an app that can strip the useless data from picture files once they have been completed and no longer need editing. I know of a great one for PNG files called PngOptimizer, but can't seem to find one for other image types. I know jpeg files are already compressed, but they can still contain useless data and can be made smaller. An open source tool to work with these other image formats would really be helpful. If you know of any, let me know.

For PNG's:

Name: PngOptimizer
License: GNU GPL
Description: Strip unneeded or wrong data from PNG files, convert BMP, GIF and TGA to Optimized PNG, reduce file size of these image files by up to 95%.

I don't believe it saves any settings or creates folders in APPDATA, so a simple launcher should suffice

I believe he is looking for a program OTHER than PngOptimizer that compresses OTHER types of image files, or am I missing something? This seems like something a good old Google serch would accomplish. *ZOOM*

hmmm

He gave a link and said:

"I don't believe it saves any settings or creates folders in APPDATA, so a simple launcher should suffice"

Figured that was just one of the things he was looking for.

jStrip

You might want jStrip

I have it on my portable drive, but it crashed on one system so I'm not sure if it needs certain dll files or .NET frameworks?
