File/Folder Renaming Application

Program: Peter's Flexible RenAmiNg Kit (PFrank)

License: Freeware

Description: PFrank is a feature-rich Windows program used for bulk renaming of files and folders.

Website: http://www3.telus.net/pfrank/

Other:

Recently on the advice of a user, I modified PFrank for portability. Now when you install it, you can choose a 'Portability' option for loading it onto portable devices.

If anyone in this forum would like to try out the program and let me know if there are any portability or other issues, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Peter.

As stated in the

Forum Guidelines, self promotion of non-GPL Apps isn't permitted here.
And that's what you're doing.

Just trying to be portable ...

Sorry I wasn't aware that there were general guidelines in addition to the guidelines which I did read at:
Un-official Request Apps Guidelines
and
Forum Guidelines: Read Before Posting
Maybe these guidelines should refer to the general guidelines?

I wasn't intending to be self-promotional. I was also under the impression that freeware was OK.
I made this posting because I had developed some freeware which a user had pointed out to me wasn't very portable. He referred me to portableApps.com. After checking out the recommendations provided at this site and modifying my program accordingly, I was just looking for confirmation that I made the correct changes and didn't miss anything. Afterall aren't the people that set up and frequent this site the portability experts? Isn't one of the goals of this site to encourage developers to make their software products portable?

Not yet

You can't post freeware apps on the site yet, but John will be getting a freeware server set up and you'll be allowed to then.
If you wish, you may email the software to me at cubegames[at]gmail.com and I'll take a look for you.
