Aren't most OS X Apps portable?

I don't have an Apple myself but I thought you could almost all Apple apps simply copy to an other drive (let it be an portable one Eye-wink).

P.S. And no - here you find only portable Windows apps. Maybe there will be crossplatform portable apps sometime in the future - Firefox and Thunderbird comes to my mind Eye-wink
