I have XAMPP, I want to install Drupal so I can produce my web page locally.Submitted by King Tut on July 7, 2007 - 5:45am
Can someone tell me how exactly (as in from the very beginning) to do it, or direct me to a tutorial? ( categories: )

Ok
What version of xampp are you using (Not version numbers either I mean did you download the installer version or just the extract and run)
It would be helpful if you provided that information before I continue with providing a solution

I got the...
...installer, but that said it had an error so I downloaded the self-extractor and extracted it to my C drive.
hmmm
Ok then once you get it extracted did you run the bat file that starts the setup of xampp as a service and then once that is ready go into the xampp control panel and make sure the basic apache, mysql and stuff is running and extract all Drupal files into htdocs and point your browser at localhost/your drupal files location and the installer for drupal should appear
