non OS

Is not Open Source... can't be done... need copyright permission...

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin

To be more specific...

1) The program itself can't be modified w/o permission from author.

2) User-created launchers/wrappers are allowable, so long as they don't violate item #1 above

3) As the above post alludes to, non-OS apps are not dealt with here on this site (except on the few occasions when JTH gets said author's permission)

3) See below for example...

Hint:

...Do a search here for the topic, and you'll find a thread where someone (I forget who) recently posted - within the last month or so - a link to DL portable e-sword 7.85.

Basically, it's a wrapper/launcher they (or someone else) came up with for this great Bible proggy. It's my fave portable scripture software.

Assuming you find the link, I have but one caveat for you:
Wherever on your hard drive you decide to put it (before placing it on your thumbdrive), LEAVE it there!

This version - while it runs portably - for some reason doesn't like being relocated from one directory to another - at least, transferred from one place on your hard drive to another:
When I did so, I got a series of 9 error messages, clicked thru them all, and the proggy ran just fine. But what a pain to put up w/ the error messages.
On the other hand, when I copied the directory onto my thumb drive, it gave me no such problems.

As always, YMMV (your mileage may vary).

esword Portable

I think someone else has already done it. I agree it is one of the best programs. The problem is the program requires adm rights on the system. This means it would not work for me at work. Do a search of esword on this forum and you might find what you are looking for.
