Developer Profiles and Other Stuff

Now that Steve, Ryan and Marko are on board and several others will soon be, I'm thinking we need to have some developer profiles in the development or about us section. Just a quick bio. Maybe a headshot. Link to their blog on here (which will be re-introduces soon... finally), Etc. That way, we can be sure folks are getting proper recognition... and it will be handy for folks when applying to university or a job to show experience on a large project like this. Any thoughts on this? Or thoughts on other ways to be sure folks get recognized for their work?

Good Idea

I personally like the idea and would enjoy having a profile once I start getting some applications released.

Me too!

I have discovered the joy of making papps, and I have seen at least 3,000 downloads in 3 months for the Pre-Release of v2 of my suites. And I am glad people are making use of them. Plus I am making a few papps.

I think it's a good idea.

I think it's a good idea. Like for example, If I have an XML/XSLT issue I could use another set of eyes to look at, I could hit up Ryan for a little help. Wink I'm guessing that's not the intended purpose though.

I would suggest "levels of expertise" for the programming language or area. For example, I'm "above average with VBScript", but only "familiar with PHP".

Sounds good

Although, I'm not sure how you "re-introduces" something Blum

What I'd really love is to have my blog posts from here, simul-blogged (take that, English teachers :P) on my site, rather than me having to write on both. Or vice versa.

I'm also thinking that we could use our external blogs and set up a Planet style site. Not to toot my own horn, but Lilina does exactly that and is developed by me, so you'll have stellar support Blum

Edit: Found it. Automattic's developers page would be a good example. I think Lloyd's one would apply to Patrick Biggrin

Indeed,

that sounds great, especially as I have some blog posts coming up on Toucan 2.0. As for bio's that sounds pretty go, not so keen on the headshot though (maybe make it optional).

Have a grey square with a profile outline of a head. I've seen this a few places online and can't think of them right now.
