Libreoffice 7.4.0 can't start

Submitted by c1p8 on September 22, 2022 - 5:58am

Hi, I have updated LibreOffice to 7.4.0, since then the app starts, shows the initial banner and then closes without any error message.

If I move the Libreoffice folder, for example, to the Desktop it starts without problems.

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it doesn't change anything...

Any suggestions?

Sergio

[Fixed] LibreOffice Portable 7.4.0 doesn't have all available languages in installer

The list of possible installation languages in LibreOffice 7.4.0 Portable MultilingualAll is missing quite a few languages like Dutch. This removes the method of just installing the selected language plus English (using the "Remove Extra Languages" during installation)

Problems with install Java support for LO Base

Submitted by Scuianut on July 30, 2022 - 2:45am

Hello, I have a problem with LibreOffice 7.3.x that I use at work as I cannot install programs on the PC (admin needed). He asks me for Java for LO Base, but downloading it from Vs. site the "exe" file is a "online installer" type (it wants to download the data directly from the server, but this type of activity is blocked). Is there the possibility of an "offline installer" including archives? Thank you

LibreOffice 2.3.1 Portable

Submitted by Motim on March 18, 2022 - 6:37am

Hello,
I am following each new version, and I wrote about this bug before, but it comes again.
In version 7.1.8 (which I use now) - in the upper left corner of "Calc" spreadsheet, there are two pen-icons , to direct the writing direction : right to left or left t right/
In the last version 2.3.1 again those icons are hidden at the far upper end, only if you click on the >> icon they appear.
Well, I have prepared two screenshots, but cannot see any 'link' where to attach them.
(May be after I save this post)
Answers will be appreciated.

LibreOffice Still 7.2.5.2 - ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2

Submitted by Abraxian on February 5, 2022 - 2:08pm

I just updated my LibreOffice Portable (Still version) MultilingualStandard and at the end of the 'install' there is a directory left behind titled ~PRESERVEDIRECTORY2. The directory contents is 92.3 MB in size and it contains 1,833 files.

What is this directory?

Is it safe to delete it?

Why was it put there in the first place?
