As Patrick has said, he's closing nascent-project.org, so everything on it needs to move. I would like to thank Patrick for his valuable assistance in running palogbot et al. for all this time. IRC logging is now running from my server; from what I've seen of other things, it should have higher uptime than nascent-project.org and fewer dropouts. We'll see if it does turn out that way. Whatever the case, it will check that it's running and start it if it's not every 20 minutes, so it should continue to work.

Recently, besides developing PAL (I might get PAL 2.1 Beta 1 out today or tomorrow), I've been trying to make testing the major thing I do, rather than producing new apps. At the moment I'm also preparing for exams over the next few weeks, so my progress is slower than I'd like. But then, I also don't get any Uni assignments, which helps.

Here is my current list of existing apps I'm planning on testing and heading towards release if they're ready:

If an antivirus program doesn't have a link in this list, also make sure you read the comments below; there are some helpful things there. I need to update the list.

Today someone came in to our live chat support with a false positive for Blender in McAfee. I couldn't find out how to report it. So when I finally found it, I decided to try investigating more vendors and listing links for them so that they can be put into the support pages.

This page is mainly for me to note down ideas that I have, which will be mainly about the PortableApps.com Launcher, PortableApps.com Installer and similar related things (I can't help with the Platform yet so I won't try to offer suggestions). I'll continue to update this page as I develop code for my ideas and as I come up with more ideas. Feel free to comment on the ideas.

Starting summary

We're switching the Menu from Delphi at some time, it's best if we do it soon, before it becomes too big a job, and also to get into the cross-platform market quickly; currently the best-looking options are C++/wxWidgets and PHP/PHP-GTK. (For launchers as well as the whole Platform.)
