I got a portable version of google chrome. It works great but i have one problem: none of my bookmarks or prefernces are stored. Could Portableapps.com make a portable google chrome that acually saves stuff like that (similar to how firefox saves bookmarks and preferences)?
Google Chrome we can't due to licensing issues but Chromium (which Google Chrome is based off of especially the looks) we are eventually going to do afaik

Chromium IS Chrome. It's basically just the difference between an officially branded Firefox and one built from source (no branding).
Chrome is BASED ON Chronium. Chrome includes Google updater functionality, appointing every installed Chrome with a unique ID, calling home with the unique ID.
and that was my point. Chrome has no features that Chromium doesn't--unless you like spyware-like behavior, that is.
Don't forget that a similar situation existed with Firefox--the FF crash reporter used to be based on a closed-source solution. Thankfully they rectified that with FF3.
There is also Iron, which I use as my default browser. They've completely stripped all the Google stuff out and added an adblocker. They have a portable version on the SRWare download page that is fully compatible with the PortableApps.com Menu:

This browser is AWESOME. I like how it already has Flash and Shockwave built in. And its portable. I wish they made addons for it like Firefox. Is this browser legal?
Iron has Flash and Shockwave built-in? I hope they got permission from Adobe, because I don't think you can distribute something like that without permission from them...
Nevermind. When i tried to use the plug in it said that it doesn't have flash-evn though when i searched "test adobe flash player" on google and went to the website-it said i had it. But i guess i dont. Sorry for misleading
