As promised
Application: PNotes
Category:Office
Description: PNotes Portable is sticky notes manager with skins, flexible display options and a built-in scheduler. Features:
1. Favorites (right click on note's non-client area and choose Add To Favorites (Remove From Favorites)
2. Custom fonts (fonts should be in 'fonts' directory within the program directory. Preferences --> Appearance --> Use custom fonts. Fonts are registered for private use of program and unregistered after the program exits.)
3. Sending note via e-mail as attachment. MS Outlook users - Outlook tries to treat .pnote files as simple RTF files and even changes their extension to .rtf while receiving - Wit Works Woe! Save the file as .pnote and continue to work with it.
4. Loading note from .pnote file (well, otherwise the previous feature is unusable)
5. Recycle Bin (like in Windows, if you hold left Shift and click 'Delete' the note will be destroyed permanently). Emptying/restoring can be made via Control Panel.
6. Instead of 'Show All', 'Hide All' there are now 'Show Groups', 'Hide Groups' menu items in the system tray popup menu, allow you to show/hide specified groups of notes (or show/hide all notes)
7. Autosave will now include newly created notes as well
8. Prompt to load autosaved notes after program crash will now appear only if there is at least one autosaved note
9. New scheduler type - 'Weekly'. Allows to select 1 - 7 weekdays and time. The program will alarm you each selected weekday at selected time.
10. New scheduler type - 'After'. Allows to select start date/time and amount of [years][months][weeks][days][hours][minutes][seconds]. The program will alarm you after this amount is reached
11. Added option to show Control Panel on program start.

I'd like to wait a little bit on the final release. Sourceforge was a turd and wouldn't let me finish downloading the ukranian translation. Please test the language switcher for me, make sure its not just me. Oh, and if someone could test on Vista, I'd really appreciate it.
Release Notes:
Please be sure to test that language switching works properly, and I fixed my spelling fail
Development Test 1 (2008-11-17): Initial release
Development Test 2 (2008-11-20):
- Updated INI
- Added the additional parameters to the exec string, so now its worth something.
- Prerelease 1 (2008-12-1): Updated to final PNotes Release, added some pieces of code
- Prerelease 2(2008-12-22): Fixed a few things I didn't catch, made somethings relative.
It doesn't advice for closing the running app. It suddentlyshowed me an error in which it sait it could replace the pnotes.exe. I thought it was closed, but anyway...
Confirmed. I'll fix it in a little bit on a faster computer.
I think its looking for PNotesPortable. I let the launcher exit after running PNotes, because it can and I don't see a reason to have a extra process hanging around.
*EDIT*
Fixed. But I just kept the old file name and everything.

HI, there seems to be a problem with weekly alarms.
I created a note today Friday (vendredi in French) for weekly alarm on Tuesday. However, in the Control Panel, the Schedule Type of the new note is "Weekly on vendredi". See the following picture:
http://img155.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pnotes45weeklyalarmsq2.jpg
NB. The same problem is found with PNotes_4_5_105 from sourceforge.net.
Thank you for discovering the problem.
Fixed and uploaded as 4.5.106 at:
http://pnotes.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=5
Hi,
I did not answer your last message because, in my idea, since your solution works, it is better to leave you as the last poster. But I think now that I should at least thank you for your quick reaction.
So, the Control Panel is ok now with 4.5.106. However, apparently, the “weekly on” alarm still has something wrong.
Today Monday at 7:45, I was surprised to see a “Weekly on: Tue. – 7:45” (according to CP) note was popped up.
In order to check the problem, I created at 8:00 a “Weekly on: Tue. – 8:05” note. Again, at 8:05, the note popped up.
Could it have something to do with the weekday in France?
Thank you again in advance.
What is the first day of week in France?
Lundi for Monday (my french is a little rusty but I think that is what it is :P)
your friendly neighbourhood moderator Zach Thibeau
It’s Monday, according to:
- Printed calendars of the (national) Post Office
- Printed organizers
- Electronic calendar of French Outlook
- Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française (1932)
But I don’t know what is commonly used in programming. I hope that the program can automatically retrieve the information from the system.
Final Version up, get it while its hot!
Gosh, anywho, merry christmas. Its a early present sure, but, hey, who doesn't like those

Hi! I am using your version 4.5.106.
Today, I created a “Repeat every 15’ note”. It worked fine. I deleted it when I have finished with it.
However, since then, a ghost alarm is popping up every 15’, displaying not the entire note, but just the flashing triangular panel with the exclamation mark.
NB. The system has been restarted several times.
The solution may be to empty the Recycle Bin, but I wanted to inform you first.
Thanks.
Hi!
Here is one more thing to fix in next release - stop the timer for notes in Recycle Bin.
Thank you!
New version. This one's ready to be released, I think.

Hi Oliver,
I found the next bug (Pre-Release 3). If I change the language to another language (e.g. german), after the next launch PNotes Portable will be in english again.
Oh, and you could change all copyrights to -2009
thanks
I'll get that fixed to, though I'm not sure why that's happening.

Your launcher reads the environment variable "PortableApps.comLanguageCode" and saves it to $APPLANGUAGE (line 141). If the variable isn't set (e.g. launching PNotes Portable without Menu), your launcher will overwrite it with the default (english, line 166 -> 186-188).
Finally it overwrites the language saved in "$SETTINGSDIRECTORY\Notes.ini" (lines 242-248) and starts PNotes in english.
A solution could be (maybe you find a better one): Change line 166 to
That's my exact change
