is the second time this occurs...
the OOP (v2) work in the few first times and after some time it dont work more.
so i try to reinstall but it says i cannot delete/move/etc the files because the files are inaccessible...
sooo i go to the folder and try to remove file by file but some files/folders have strange characters and it dont delete...
my english is terrible... i send a screenshot
http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6540/bizarrocn1.png
if you note, the modification date have absurd dates like year 2077 or 1982, special characters and the sum of the file sizes is 98Gb!!!
after that i installed the OOP v3 so you can see 2 folders to open office in the screenshot but the folder with problems was renamed
i have a (NEW!! FIRST USE!!) Kingston Data Traveler 2Gb... win XP when the problem occurred but some times use vista...
first time was Firefox Portable and it affects all my files in the pendrive...
i dont want to reformat my pendrive... AGAIN!
have any suggestion?
(yes i know... probably the suggestion is format hehehe but it will happen again and again!!)
Sounds like you either have a bad drive or a bad USB port. It happens.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
... it was the result of a low voltage usb port of my machine
The only way to fix it, was (for me) to change the port and format the drive.
Paid for Software more or less?
What You need is OSS!
Need link to alternate icon themes

So have you/can you try using a POWERED Hub on the PC in work.
This way you don't rely on the power coming from the USB port.
Also were you using a port on the front of the PC case ?? - if so try one round the back of it.
I may be wrong but I believe that SOME motherboard manufacturers actually have 2 different USB controllers.
The one's fitted directly to the motherboard (round the back) could be USB 2 BUT one 's fitted to the front case MAY be USB 1 (or 1.1) - Corruption could be because of USB Speed issues
I also notice you don't mention what operating system the work PC is using.
If it's anything like where I work it MAY be an old PC with Windows98 or ME installed.
Windows 98 is famous for NOT being USB friendly & WinME was flaky the best of times
well...
i dont have a hub to test... but i can test the other suggestion...
but how i'll know if that works? i only have the probability of know if it didnt work if it has problems again... but how i know it not problem?
i use the front usb entry... and i think it's really a 1.1...
i'm using win XP... the screenshot says this hehehe
and i know... i had a winME and really it is in the top of the worst OS of all times... (vista 2nd place and Fedora 3rd hehehe)
thanks!
