Hi,
since the 2.5.3 update my Pidgin fails at exiting. The window stays open (turns completely white) and sometimes it even freezes the whole system :/
If not, it takes quite a while until the "application hangs..." message appears.
Pidgin is usually docked at the right edge of the screen (...if that matters)
I'm running WinXP SP3

I experience the same with my local install. It appears to be a bug in Pidgin itself. You can downgrade to 2.5.2 or wait for the next release.

I get the same thing. I think I'll try and file a bug on Pidgin's site/see what's there already.

A fix has been incorporated into the 2.5.4 branch for this issue. There are still a few other issues that are being worked on for the release. We'll portablize it when the Pidgin developers release it.

becouse of the problem at exit in pidgin 2.5.3.. i would like to know how to going back to pidgin 2.5.2..

Go to the PortableApps.com Sourceforge Download Page, look for Pidgin Portable, and click it, it will list all old versions available for download. Be sure when downloading to left-click the links, a right-click will not properly download the file.

I downloaded the version 2.5.4 and tested it. It seems to work. At least for me it works.

180 Apps on my USB Flash Drive and counting ...
I'm using Windows XP Professional SP1.
Pidgin 2.5.4 seems to be still freezed whenever I exit the app.
Hope the coming version will fix the problem as it is very troublesome to end-task it manually every time.
