Hi Guys,
Thunderbird (TBP) did an automatic upgrade from v2.0.0.17 to v2.0.0.18 and now it does not start. The splash screen starts and then nothing else seems to happen.
When I tried re-installing TBP it mentioned that there is still an active/open version of TBP and thus cannot perform the install.
I'm planning to restart the pc so I can re-install but presume my problems are larger than a simple re-install.
Any ideas on where to start searching? I.e. can it be a corrupt prefs.js or index (msf) files?

you have to stop the thunderbirdportable.exe and if running also thunderbird.exe first probably. Then you can try the reinstallation. Should work then.

I'm having the same problem with the 2.0.0.19 version.
I installed it, everything appeared to go normally.
However, the splash screen shows, then nothing.
I've tried re-installing, but when I do I get the error "error opening file for writing u:\portableapps\thunderbirdportable\app\thunderbird\app\thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"
Anyone else had this, or have any idea what is going wrong?
