I'm not certain about this, correct me if I'm wrong, someone. I think that the technique that Firefox uses for its restart will start a new firefox.exe process (just about) instantaneously.
The Firefox Portable Launcher, after waiting for the completion of the firefox.exe process, pauses two seconds before looking for it again. Thus it should be caught by the launcher.
However, the real thing I'm not sure about is whether Firefox will be restarted with the same command line arguments, or whether it will merely be restarted. I'm pretty certain that it does put in the command line arguments though, as I've used it without thinking of the consequences and not had any side-effects.
Summary: I believe that it's safe.

As to me sees, is better this button I will not touch. So is quieter...:)
John designed the launcher so it waits a little before checking so firefox can start anew.

It works as expected with restarts and still uses your profile on the portable device. The launcher sticks around until the restarted process closes.
