Thanks and Congrats + Pidgin Problem + Komposer Prob + App Request

Hey all, I needed to address these 3 issues but I didn't want to spam the posts with 3 different threads so I just placed everything here. Mods feel free to move it if necessary.

Firstly, I would like to say that the works you all are doing is excellent. I have been a member of PA for 3 or so months and I am loving it! Congratulations John and you guys, keep up the great work!

Secondly, I am having a problem with Pidgin. I enabled the Transparency plugin, but Pidgin crashes every time I open a IM window with it enabled. Any help?

Thirdly, KompoZer keeps crashing when I select an image, make it a layer and then move it to try and fill the white border it leaves on the top and left edges when you insert it. (I want it to be the background, but in Tools->Options (or was it Preferences) under the page settings, it doesn't allow relative paths for the background image.)

This leads up to my last issue - an app request. During my search for a replacement web builder, I ran into Mozilla's SeaMonkey, and it was love at first sight. I know KompoZer is based on the same source-code as SeaMonkey's Composer, but just the brand Mozilla puts a sense of trust into the user. Besides, it's more than just a WYSIWYG, it's got a browser and more!

And now I'm thinking...you all have Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Mozilla Sunbird, why not complete the family? I'm sure I'm speaking for a lot of the SeaMonkey users on this site when I say that Mozilla SeaMonkey, Portable Edition with look pretty damn good sitting on our PAM. So please consider it....pretty, pretty please:-)

Thanks again,
Mikaeel.

P.S. I heard that everytime we use http://start.portableapps.com/, Google donates some money to PA. Is that true?, because I've been using it everyday since I heard that.

First, glad you like it.

On Pidgin, I'd recommend not using the transparency plugin then. It could have an issue with your video card. Or try the local version, maybe it doesn't like being compressed on your box.

On SeaMonkey, the 1.x version is *severely* outdated and shouldn't be used as a web editor. It also keeps its settings in an odd format that does not lend itself to portablization. The 2.x release is only and alpha (read: unstable, don't use it for real stuff) but I have a launcher for it here: https://portableapps.com/node/9266

And on the start page, yes we get money from the ads presented on the search pages from Google.

What happens if we use Adblock?

No Benefit

Then we get no benefit. Same with the google ads you block on the site.

I use adblock but I add exceptions for text ads. They're not distracting. And they're occasionally interesting. And I'm mindful of the fact that without ads and people clicking on them many of the sites I enjoy every day would cease to exist.
