Mod34 icons for categories

Hi. I've tried for 3 hours now to change the icons in the menu withouth success. I've installed the PAM Mod34 and created new categories in the menu by right-click/Category/Add Category. Then I tried to change the icons of the new categories with right-click/Category/Edit Category/Change open icon. But whatever I choose the icon doesn't change. I've also tried to change them manually in Desktop.ini, PortableAppsMenu.ini and theme.ini but absolutely nothing works. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Change the images Folder.ico

Change the images Folder.ico and Folderopen.ico (located in PortableAppsMenu/Data/Theme/[ThemeName]/IconTheme/) to the ones you want (though keep the same names)

No icons

What theme are you using?

Does the theme have an icon theme folder included? Folder structure should be:

\ThemeName\IconTheme

It appears that you have totally lost the category icons - you don't even have the originals, so something is really wrong with your setup.

Check R34 Mod Menu tutorials at:

Re: No icons

I'm using the default theme and the icons are all there in PortableAppsMenu\Data\Theme\Default\IconTheme. So they should be visible in the menu but they just aren't. I don't get it...

Try installing a different theme

You might try installing a different theme and see how that works for you.

Seems that you have deleted the default theme?

just download r34 patched once again from PTC and look for ../data/theme/default folder -> put it into the /theme/ location of your menu -> it´s very important to keep the default folder because it restores your default settings on new start or in case of any corruption of your theme.
Else you can put two icons of your own into your personal theme folder under
\data\theme\[mythemename]\Icontheme named folder and folderopen..
and as JNeutron said read the tutorial and ask before any modifications and always keep a backup of your running menu when modding the mod. Wink

Re: Seems that you have deleted the default theme?

Solved

After re-installing the platform and the mod plus trying other themes the problem was still there. So I googled for icon problems and learned that by deleting the file "IconCache.db" the problem could be solved. And so it was. Thanks everybody for your help!

Excellent!

I will have to add that solution to my bag of tricks.

Thanks!
