Symantec identifying startportableapps.exe as a trojan FYI

Dont know where to post this, but every time i try to install on the desktop, the startportableapps.exe file gets tagged and quarentined by symantec endpoint protection. I am in a small business network and dont control the software, and so cant exclude it, i won't be using this software any longer here.

Any ideas?

Symantec identifying startportableapps.exe as a trojan

Certainly it's not a Trojan; more likely a Symantec oops.
Short of Symantec removing it from their database, it would need to be excluded locally.

Dinjier -- you may want to see if you can get to the Symantec >> Configure >> File System Auto-Protect option.
I don't have full permissions, but, but I was able to get there.

From the file system auto-protect, I was able to turn on Exclude selected filed and folders, and then add the entire drive running portableapps.
After exiting Symantec, I was able to re-install just the PortalApps platform, which left my apps, docs, settings, etc. intact on the flash drive.

Hopefully, Symantec will resolve the situation from their end.

...

You could send the file to Symantec for them to check and once confirmed its not infected they will fix it in there next malware definitions. I had a quick look at there site myself but couldn't find how. I'm guessing there might be an option in the application to do this. Alternatively does someone want to link to the page.

Must have been in one of

Must have been in one of their recent updates, because this has never happened before and this program is far from a trojan.
