All Application Download?

Is there an easy way to download all of the applications at once? Maybe a zip file that contains all the applications or something like that. I would really like to just download all of the applicaitons at once instead of going from page to page to page for each application. It seems like it would be a good way to easily download and play with the applications and test them out at the same time saving me a lot of download time as well.

Updater

The PortableApps.com Updater is the best way to try this.

I eventually found a link to a version of the PortableApps updater but it said it was outdated https://portableapps.com/node/16779

Is there a better version to try. Not a big deal i am just trying to be lazy and I don't want to have to download each application separately. Not sure if it makes a difference but I downloaded the 2.0 beta version and installed it on a 1gb stick so I do have that version of PortableApps as well.

The updater will be included in the PA Menu 2.0

If you check out the link to the very recently release PAP 2.0 Beta 1
https://portableapps.com/node/20013
you will see that the updater will become incorporated into the menu in Beta 2.
That's why it hasn't been updated as a stand-alone app.

If you are impatient, here's a single page that has all the apps at SF. It'll save you a few clicks each:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/

While I like the updater, I prefer not to use it for larger apps like OpenOffice. Instead, I use the Download them all! extension for Firefox - it's really a lot faster.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Thanks

I did see that the updater was going to be in the Beta 2 but wasnt sure if the stand-alone was updated somewhere or not. Thanks for the info.

Also thanks for the sourceforge link, that saved me quite a few clicks and time.

The way they do this at http://www.app-stick.com/ would be absolutely great. You can basically add downloads as if it was a shopping cart, and then download your entire cart at once.

That's exactly how the updater works. The only difference is you "shop" from the PortableApps Menu itself, not from the website, which I actually like better. If you have read the thread about the 2.0 beta release and wonder why it's not in there when John said it would be there in beta 2, it's because betas 2, 3, and 4 were actually just minor bugfixes as people reported issues, not the beta 2 he referred to. Think of them more as beta 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3... it's coming Smile

It's more like apt-get for Linux, and Synaptic for Ubuntu [Linux client]. And it's one of the coolest features in Linux that Windows has nothing like. The PA Updater will only list updates on PortableApps.com; apt-get and Synaptic call massive databases that seem to contain every Linux program available (available to the database, that is), and you can search and download whatever you like, and it can automatically get additional packages it depends upon. It's utterly brilliant. The same program functions as the application (and kernel) updater and the uninstallation panel.

That should be the site's motto, eh?
