better what?

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. I have got Windows XP Home Edition(SP3) and Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 on my system.

I want to download Mozilla Firefox portable browser or any other portable browser that you recommend on my USB pen drive for the purpose of downloading web-pages,Google videos and you tube videos directly on my pen drive and viewing them all offline and my Internet speed here is slow also.

Then, what are the portable FREE soft-wares to be installed including security

soft-wares(s)?.Soft-wares names and their website addresses?

you can use Clamwin Portable,

you can use Clamwin Portable, but I'd just scan them with Virus Total and Jotti.

Also for security there is the ever present and ever effective noscript.

You can do the video downloads with xVST. I know the version is old, and I need to get to updating that one, but I'm busy :(. It still works though, and it is portable. For playing them, use VLC. I still use version 8.6 though. Its up to you if you'd like to update.

Thanks for the respectful tone and welcome to PortableApps

BetterTube

There is a Greasemonkey script for Firefox called BetterTube which adds a download link to all YouTube videos. Just get the extension Greasemonkey and look for BetterTube on userscripts.org. I've never gotten better speeds or any other advantage in using a software downloader. I'm sure xVST is a decent enough app, but I'd rather just click Download, than open another app and copy/paste the URL over.

There is also a Firefox extension, I believe called VideoDownloadHelper that does much the same thing, but it was problematic for some reason when I used it last year, so I stopped using it, and now just use the script.
