Is blog related to homepage ?

I am wonder who is behind that website ?

https://portableapps.com/

vs

[link to illegal software removed by mod JTH]

.... When I click upper this page on "Josh's mirrors", it show me
"wwjoshdew´s shared files" [link to illegal software removed by mod JTH]

.... That means user named "[mention of portableapps.com troll and spammer removed by mod JTH]" is behind that website. However, there is no contact page or any way how to tell sth to its author.

.... By the way, I cant be sure if "[link to illegal software removed by mod JTH]" is directly related with "portableapps.com" or not

Thanks for explanation

This website is not affiliated with PortableApps.com

This website is NOT affiliated with PortableApps.com, and in fact, it distributes illegal copies of software, both commercial software (Photoshop, etc.), as well as open-source, such as modifications of the software found here.

Johns moderations speak for themselves...

if he removed it, you can see

if he removed it, you can see his reasons.

Many sites violate our trademarks, other site's trademarks. They steal software, and could be spreading viruses and many other things.

Hi

There have been a lot of posts about this site (which is why I recommended to him that he report the site to Google), so a quick search turns up dozens of results that nobody would ever read [Search].
John is big on not letting them getting any traffic Pardon (AFAIK).
It's mainly illegal because they are giving away a modification of $1000 programs like Photoshop for free (aka piracy). Also, they are using trademarks that they don't have permission to use (e.g. this site's trademarks, Mozilla's trademarks, etc.).
John said something about how Lupo probably won't stop because suing would take more money than it's worth, and the other sites we barely know who's behind it (again, why I recommend that he files a complaint w/ Google).

- Thanks for many links, and deeply explanation of that situation

- Of course, they cant do portable for Adobe Photoshop (and other shareware).
I thought to today, that portable apps which are shareware, and are on that site, are like a trial (only free to try for 30 days for example). Otherwise, that is comletely piracy!

- I didnt download portable apps, about I know, which are not freeware/open-source

- Hovewer, some programs, which are freeware, and its author offer zip packaged portable on their websites, are not here, at portableapps.com ... Some apps which is author-legally portable packaged in .zip /can be/ transformed to paf.exe .
Author of that program packaged in zip, so he want to allow others to use it on portable devices. I think, for this situation, is not needed additional (in fact ,the second) ask for allow it. = this could add many new apps to portableapps.com

Yeah...Google is completely bad. In first page is usually malware, and p*rn or piracy ads. I convert myself to Bing, and everything is OK for several months.

Not Google's fault

I don't think it's Google's fault. Pages with adult content, piracy, and malware (especially rogue AV software) generally use search-engine optimization techniques to force their pages to the top of search results.
Take the Haiti earthquake for example; within a day or two of the earthquake, malware pages were the top 6 results for Haiti search results.

Bing has probably gone mostly unscathed because it's so (relatively) new; wait until it gets more market share to watch that have the same problems.
