Download from Gmail contains everything there

New install latest version because other install corrupted. Created first Gmail account which ended up the default account, then the second one. 1st account contains and extra setup in properties "Disk Space" which the second does not have and is necessary.

Second account, which does not have "Disk Space" has a second Directory on the main page called Gmail in italics. Under this are sub-directories of drafts, sent mail, all mail, spam, trash and starred as listed on the online Gmail account. I cannot eliminate these extra directories/sub-directories and they synchronize with the online account area which I don't want to do. I've tried all of the ways under setup and cannot make them go away. This results in everything from the online account to be downloaded to the program including spam, trash, sent mail etc. from Thunderbird. Is there anyway this can be stopped? The first account, which ended up the default account Gmail, does not have this extra synchronization. Wastes a lot of time and space downloading the mail you just sent plus the spam can be a bunch too.

Deleted 2nd account then made a new one, same results.

Thanks

IMAP

This is IMAP and it just loads the indexes. It's all done live online. You can set which folders are available offline by right-clicking and that causes TB whether or not to sync the, (syncing all is the default now).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

IMAP

Late last night I found by right clicking on the main folder "GMail" then selecting subscribe the various folders could be unchecked then then all of those folders could be deleted. Wish I could have gotten back before troubling you about it.

There is still the problem in Account Settings on this one account where the "Disk Space" does not show up for setting. This account is my wife's account, who uses Incredimail, for her Email and this can set to something like 1K so I can tell her she has Email to read and it won't download on Thunderbird.

Portable Apps. are really handy for me traveling and then using software on the USB stick to troubleshoot other computers too.

Thanks for the help,
Dennis
