howdy guys,
Just a general question, as you people are the end users of PChat, in which direction would you like to see PChat go in, like what features would, you the users, would like to see in future releases if possible.
I for one am going to try and see about getting dcc fixed so that when it's used dcc actually works and also try and get a proper working tray.
Anyways let me know what you would like to see done in PChat and I'll do what I can

Dcc would be a good thing. I
Dcc would be a good thing. I don't really care for the tray, its never worked properly. Something like the one in KVIrc would be really neat.
Spellcheck would be really nice
Keep up the good work.
lol I should of mentioned
lol I should of mentioned spell check before, I had partial sucess with using gtkspell (but made it so you can't send text in PChat anymore) and libsexy worked but it wasn't highlighting incorrectly spelled words, most likely it could not find aspell properly.
also I'm statically compiling PChat with the OpenSSL library (makes the end exe bigger but makes the need for the openssl dll files no longer needed)
compilling the ssl binaries
compilling the ssl binaries in is a good thing.
As far as the spellcheck, maybe look at the way Geany's spell check system is implemented?
Just a couple of *minor* things
Just a couple of very minor things; probably not worth implementing, except maybe the bookmarks option, but I'll mention them anyway.
Here's my wishlist:
* [RFE] Add the ability to bookmark channels
* [RFE] +1 for spellcheck
* [Bug] The PChat windows frequently have unusual positions (e.g. partly hidden by the Taskbar)
* [Bug] File transfer is still pretty flaky (pretty sure your mention of DCC covers this, but I'm not completely sure)
Really love PChat; keep up the wonderful work!
file transfer == dcc. Direct
file transfer == dcc. Direct Chat Connection.
Anyway, it won't work behind a firewall (as near as I can tell) and the transfer pretty much fails.
I think it does have bookmarks though already.
No bookmarks
No, it doesn't have bookmarks - I've been up and down the PChat interface, and couldn't find anything. Zach Thibeau confirmed that on IRC a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the confirmation on file transfer; I know there's a lot of stuff clustered under the DCC heading (DCC Chat, for example) so I wasn't sure what Zach meant.
there is a bookmark like
there is a bookmark like feature but I confirmed it wasn't the one you wanted.
+1 Bookmark
Well, I'm not qualified to comment on the more technical merits of this discussion, but a bookmark feature would be helpful. As I'm completely new to IRC (I know it's old as hell, but I never got into it) all I know is FreeNode and #PortableApps. 1.0.2 didn't seem to remember a thing (but I know, that release was bad) and while 1.0.3 will remember my chosen nick from before, and it autoscrolls to FreeNode, while that's helpful, I saw I had to type in #PortableApps again. So if there were a quicker way to get into #PortableApps, that would be helpful.
I know "what's not on IRC" is a better question than "what's on IRC" but #PortableApps is the only channel I know.
And to be honest I really don't see myself using it (I never liked chat rooms to start with) but from the point of view of a new user, that would be a helpful feature.
Hi
I tried out your PChat just now, and it works OK. Fairly good AAMOF. As I always disable that flash screen, I've noticed in PChatPortable.ini the line:
Shouldn't it be:
Feel free to erase this post as soon as you note it, as I have no feature suggestions/requests ATM. Take care
No Longer Used
Actually, that line is no longer used anyway.
