recently i have downloaded some portable software, such as UltraISOportable, xnviewportable, winrarportable, etc.i got trouble when using them
UltraISOportable:i run UltraISOportable.exe,it shows itself registed, then i checked"options"-"configration"-"integation"-"associate" with "iso" files, then i double click an iso file,a popup window shows and tells me "UltraISO is not registered"
winrarportable:same problem as UltraISOportable
xnviewportable:similar problem as UltraISOportable, when i double click a JPG file, xnview runs, but settings i have done in xnviewportable are all lost
notepad++portable:i have checked file association, but when i double click on files(such as .txt .ini) they still open with windows notpad
what should i do to solve these problem?
sorry for my poor english, hope you can understand what i am saying:)
and welcome here!
UltraISO and Winrar aren't from here and I don't use them so I cant say anything about them.
XnView looses its settings you say. Thats beacuse normally if you set a portable program as default, it sets the program as default and not the portable launcher. For XnView that means that you have set xnview.exe as default and not XnViewPortable.exe. because all the "portabliasitaion" is done by the launcher, you now launch a local copy without your portable settings.
There is nothing you can do about that other than using a portable file association program like eXpresso.
The same applies to Notepad++. But I think you cant set any defaults there - maybe the launcher deletes them?
