Audacity: Cant Locate FFmpeg!!!

I downloaded it and extracted zip in the ffmpeg folder. I use the locate button to locate the dll, and then ok but it still says |FFmpeg library not found", wth?

i had the same issue with LAME

you need to move the dll into the folder within the portable app where the plug in's go. this should resolve the issue.

Portable Audacity has very specific folder locations

For FFMPEG amd LAME, you need to put them in the right folders.

Did you follow these instructions?

There may be an installer issue.

There was a bug where Audacity did not have the correct installer.ini file or something.
If you have upgraded Audacity to 1.3.12 rev 2 over an existing installation, it may have issues.
Have you tried deleting Audacity completely and dl'ing and re-installing the latest version?

The issue with not remembering the FFMPEG should have been resolved in the current version, so long as the file path is correct.

No, i installed this directly

No, i installed this directly without having any previous versions installed. I have correctly unzipped into the folder.

I was also advised in audacity forums that an existing ffmpeg installation may cause conflicting but i dont see it anywhere else installed. I ll try installing the Audacity and see if that helps.
