I am guessing that FFP 2.0

I am guessing that FFP 2.0 will not be released until Mozilla pushes out FF 1.5.0.8
FF 1.5.0.8 will enable autoupdating to FF 2.0. This is why currently folks using FF1.5.0.7 are not being offered 2.0

Why?

There was a FFP 2.0 RC3, and as I understand it, FF 2.0 RC3 was the same as the official release of FF 2.0. I can't see John needing to wait for the improved updater in 1.5.0.8. I think it probably has more to do with either new changes in the launcher, or a delay for the publicity push I seem to remember John had planned for the release of Portable Apps Suite 1.0.

And as always, I know, it'll be ready, when it's ready.

Does it ever occur to anyone...

... that there may be other issues at work that are the reason for a delay? I'm not just sitting on my ass here Smile If you poke around in the FFP 2.0 RC3 a bit, you'll see there's a reason included in there as to why FF2 has not been released yet.

I didn't think you were

I didn't think you were going to release it at all, considering that the only difference between Fx2 final and Fx2RC3 is the name.

Two thoughts.

Not that you owe anyone an explanation or that everyone would end up reading it or paying attention to it...

...Would a separate thread published by you John explaining some of the issues you see with FF 2.0 Final and their relation to FF and FFP help?

OR

Would that cause a great big discussion about whether or not the issues are valid or not? Of course this is a discussion forum after all. That might not hurt us and you have quite a few very intelligent developers here.

Not technical

It's not technical. And it's not up for discussion, so it doesn't matter what anyone thinks of the issue (me included). But, if you're curious, just look in an install of FFP 2.0 RC3. There's one new text file that explains it.

Would it be this magical

Would it be this magical little blurb?

"The final licensing for the portable edition is still being worked out."
