I just read OliverK's blog for the PortableApps.com Userbars and that brought up some good old userbar making days I once had, so I decided to make 1 on my own so I present to you all

Cool
We really need a "fan art" section here!
Its been promised I believe.
Its been promised I believe.
good
but...a lot has been.
I know
I know
FanArt would do better on FB, anyway
It's much easier for users to upload, and moderators to edit albums.
There's already a couple of user-submitted pictures up there, although the stuff on there is currently kinda pointless. However, I think if people start uploading real artwork, then it's simple enough for the FB admin to move the best into its own album.
I don't know Drupal much, but from what I've read, it's not the most straightforward thing. In fact, it looks like it's kind of a PITA to implement.
No facebrick please.
No facebrick please. deviantArt would be better for that. On the other, it is better, much better to keep it on this site.
You may dislike Facebook
But there is an official page there. Look to the left, you will see a "Find us on Facebook" link. It's obviously OK with John and Co., or they wouldn't have created it. And adding images to Facebook is easy - no re-inventing of the wheel.
IMHO, I wouldn't want the devs or John to spend a single minute trying to rework this site to support image galleries, when
A. The lead time on the platform releases is already long
B. Other websites are optimized for image galleries, which Drupal is NOT.
We don't have a deviantArt site, but that's not a bad idea. But you know, a FanArt site is something that doesn't require any effort by John at all - any one of us could create a deviantArt site. It would be nice to keep that off the humongous JTH to-do list.
Until then, if I have any FanArt, it's either going on my site or the Official PortableApps.com Facebook Page.
