Hello all,
I`m new here. Well that's not the reason why I`m posting this
I have an idea for the CubicExplorer.
My Company (i work as an engineer there) has many files in one folder with nearly identical names.
http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/1622/beispieli.jpg roundabout 300 folders in one.
Mostly we don t have to search anything, our problem is to find something. Mostly, the only difference between the file names is one number or one letter.
Here comes the (stolen)* idea.
You only have to type in a part of an file name(the full name/part of the name/letters/or the article number)
and the program will show folders/files which pass to your search criterion.
for example:

I hope you understand what i mean.
*why I wrote "stolen":
Because I know this type of search from our CAD Programm (Catia).
What do you think about that?
Could this be useful for you too?
Who will make the upgrade for me I`m a bad bad bad coder
As good an idea as it may be, you should pass on your idea directly to the developer of Cubic Explorer. PortableApps only repackages the applications for portable use, it doesn't develop them or add features.
FWIW, I use FreeCommanderPortable which has a directory/file filter option, which sort of sounds like what you're describing.
Welcome to PortableApps.com.
oh god, filter, that was the word i searched the whole text. I allways circumscribe it.
Thanks you!
The development snapshot of CubicExplorer has support for text filters.
You can find it here:

Cubic Explorer does already have most of this functionality, just not from the URI bar.
Just click the File Search button. This search allows searching by partial names, and in conjunction with the Filters panel (Ctrl + 4) you can limit the filetypes that are displayed. Note that File Search does not display folders, though.
