SharpDevelop Portable

Program: SharpDevelop

License: LGPL

Description:
SharpDevelop is a free and open source IDE for the programming languages C#, Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET), Boo, F# (starting at version 3.0), IronPython, and Clarion.

Website: http://www.icsharpcode.net/opensource/sd/

I know, there have already been attempts to make it portable, but if i find a version it´s either an old one or doesn´t work properly.

I´d really be happy, if it could be added to the development-apps.

Either way, thanks for reading

.NET

Part of the reason could be that it's .NET, so it won't work on most public PCs since they are XP without .NET installed (see details). We're going to be adding .NET apps into the PA.c Directory shortly, as soon as we get our content management system upgrade complete, so I think there would be more interest then. Personally, I think it seems like a solid addition to our dev tools so once we start adding .NET apps (with an appropriate warning regarding portability), I'll make sure this gets added if no one else picks it up.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I'll take it

Unless someone else is already working on this, I'll take it.

I'm waiting on PortableApps

I'm waiting on PortableApps to make several moves, such as release their 3.0 platform so I can test the file extension stuff, but I made a launcher for this.

I don't currently have a way to nicely install it, as it comes in MSI, but so far my basic testing shows a simple way to change file settings to be portable.

Prototype

This is NOT packaged according to PortableApps format specifications-- this is just a super small iconified EXE I made in 2 minutes to open the existing SharpDevelop portable format (so the PortableApps platform will work with it). Someone should definitely make a more official version:

This is out now and in PAF,

This is out now and in PAF, though you'll still need .NET.
