Description: Appetizer is an application launcher, or dock, for Windows. Rather than organizing the apps as a list like the Windows Start menu, they are organized in a dock a bit similar to the Mac OS X dock bar.
Release notes: A new PortableApps version is available for download at the address below. The most visible changes are the support for icon labels (can be displayed below or to the right of the icon), and the support for PNG icons. There are also many minor bug fixes, in particular for Vista. Most of the changes were done on the plugin engine though, so that more features can be added by creating plugins. Please give it a try and let me know if you notice any issue. As always, suggestions are also welcome.

A new Beta version of Appetizer is available for download here: Download Appetizer 1.4.4.148
There was quite a few bugs in the previous version - among others the app wasn't closing properly, and the "Start on system startup" option was bugged. This release should fix these issues and a few others. If you still notice any problem, please let me know! Hopefully, I should be able to release the final version 1.4 in a few days.
on Windows2000 and Windows7
haven't tried XP yet but one can assume if there's no issues on 7 it should be alright.

Appetizer itself is at version 1.4.7.508 now, according to the official Appetizer download page, but its development seems to have stalled (last update was 2010-07-07, according to Sourceforge). Appetizer Portable seems to be stalled too, and that hasn't even reached the same version as the official Appetizer.
Is this still being actively developed?

It probably has stalled/ceased. - The Developer hasn't responded to Forum Messages on the site for way over 12 months. However, the last portable (zip) package listed on the download page - http://app.etizer.org/download - is the same as the installable version, i.e. 1.4.7.508 - I'm still using it as a subsidiary PortableApps menu, primarily to provide tailored Categories, at least until the PortableApps Platform 'catches up' with this feature.

Shoot, an actively-developed Appetizer would have worked well with another program I'm working on at the moment. I guess I'll see how well 1.4.7.508 meets my needs.
