I know this has been requested two years ago, but in the meantime it has hit 0.9 and is speeding towards version 1.0.
I think an alternative to Nvu/Kompozer would be welcome. Without wanting to revive the discussion on deadness/undeadness of Kompozer (see here and here), I'll still remind that the latest stable version is three and a half years old and now it's almost a year since the latest development version's release.
I'll take a look to see what is involved.
As per horusofoz, 1.0 has been released. If you're no longer interested, I'll happily take this on.
Two years ago, BlueGriffon was almost vaporware. Today, it is almost a decent alternative to Kompozer.
It's still got a few bugs still (it prompts to create a CSS ID, but nothing for Class; it supports WebFonts, but does not display them in WYSIWYG, there are missing toolbars, etc) but it finally is a contender.
I like that it's got good support for HTML5 and CSS3, and the code it generates looks pretty clean.
It's got a bit of Freemium in it, as the base software is free, but addons by Glazman cost 30 euros. I'm sure that if this app takes off, others will write add-ons that will be free.
It also seems that Glazman is really intending 1.0 to be a big release, so I think if it's really coming soon, we should make that our goal for official release.
I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
Daniel Glazman has announced the preview release of BlueGriffon 1.0 for April 26th or 27th.

But I don't get it's license... If it's based of Mozilla's code doesn't it have to be FOSS? They're charging like $40...

The base app is OS and free. They are charging for add-ons.

I believe this is a bump, which is not permitted. A new version of a base app being released has no bearing on a request for a portable version.

I am sorry, it won't happen again.

thanks for the info about the update though
You should be able to update the original request post to make sure it includes the correct current version info, which IMHO shouldn't be called a bump.
A bump is the addition of a comment purely for the purposes of raising it to the top of the "Recent Posts" list. Or as is put here:
IMFHO, adding new version information to a thread isn't a nonsense comment. Unfortunately, on this site, you don't have the option to sage a comment (post it without moving it to the top of the list). I think, though, if you update the original post, it does not move it up.
The post by horusofoz was not flagged as a bump; however, you could argue that the change from 0.9 to 1.0 signified a change in the base app status from beta to stable release, which does have a bearing on the request, since betas have much lower chance of being made into official apps.

Thank you for the info. I am around here long enough and should have known better. Next time I must also remember not to post any comments after not having had enough sleep at night
Under the circumstances I won't update the original post now, but I may try that some other time (for version 2.0, who knows?)

Blue Griffon is now up to 1.5.2. It is being very actively maintained, while Kompozer seems to abandoned by its developers.
Shouldn't Blue Griffon be better to have as an official app?

So, build it.

So, I managed to take some time and I think I have BlueGriffon portable and working properly. You can find the release page here. Please tell me if there's any problems and I'll try to fix them sooner than later. Enjoy!
