Summary: I am looking for a portable app, that can browse both http and https sites, anonymously, through sites that do not log personal info (such as browser type, site visited, number of clicks, etc).
I have been a great fan of http://www.ninjaproxy.com and http://proxy.org for many months since the Sri Lankan government banned several sites that were considered to be a "threat to national security".
It seems only too logical that someone might write an app that would bypass blocked proxies by encrypting requests (SSL tunneling) and contacting other, external, unblocked sites.
Does anybody know such an app? There are many that are available (search wikihow) and some are even 'green' (no need to install == portable )I know that JonDo and UltraSurf do the trick but they hardly seem to be reliable.
Please search before posting. This type of thing has been discussed a number of times.

I'll post that simply for the sake of posting it, but I've personally tried all the AlternativeTo's and none have worked like UltraSurf. Then I found out about this and this and stopped using it. The fact that my friend got caught and the school blocking port 9666 as a result also might have played a teensy role in my decision.
So I was like, "you know what? I'm gonna write my own proxy app." And I've started to but I wanted hotkey functionality, and only after writing like 80% of it, I decided to switch over to a completely different programming language (AHK) and am starting from scratch (again), under a different name, frozenPlanet, and I hope to get it out in the fall before school starts.
Have you tried https://camoList.com?
ADOR:: Advanced Onion Router is already portable just search for it in google, you have to set up proxies in the browser though.
then you can use tor:
https://www.torproject.org/index.html.en
there is full portable browser on their website too

You can hardly do anything through free tor services. But if your desperate, I guess it'll do.
it very much depends on which relay you get. It operates via 3 relay mostly, and beside all those big servers, everybody can act as relay station. I do myself time to time operate a relay and this is running on my old linux dell notebook via wifi, slow internet connection on my side anyway. So if someone gets 3 similar relays as me, then well it needs lot of time to transfer some 'modern' website with dozens of flash and what ever in it.
If one gets those fast big servers, then things work not so bad.
But this is matter of luck, as all relays are assigned randomly to make it all not traceable.
