jPortable 6 Update 26 (formerly Java Portable) has been released by PortableApps.com. jPortable allows you to easily install the Java® runtime engine to your PortableApps.com-enabled device for use with portable apps like OpenOffice.org Portable, all without any Java runtime on the local PC. This release updates the included Java® runtime environment to the latest release. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format for easy use from any portable device and integration with the PortableApps.com Suite. It's freeware for business and personal use.
Note: The PortableApps.com Updater in 2.0 Beta 5 does not update add-ons, just portable apps. So, please download and install this as you would a new app.

Features
jPortable allows you to easily add a Java® runtime environment to your portable device. It automatically works with apps in PortableApps.com Format like OpenOffice.org Portable. No Java® runtime environment needs to be installed on the local machine and no admin rights are required. The JVM will be downloaded directly from Oracle's servers as part of the installation process.
jPortable Launcher
In addition to using jPortable with portable apps packaged in PortableApps.com Format, you can also use our jPortable Launcher to run Java apps in JAR format. It will even automatically portablize the settings of many Java apps.
Java Portable Apps Coming
This release of Java Portable marks the beginning of Java apps on the PortableApps.com Platform. We have an array of Java-based portable apps in testing and will begin releasing them soon.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format
jPortable is packaged as a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Thank You

Small Fix
Hi portableapss stuff
thank you for all your great and hard job!
i love your portableapps.com site and all the apps!
and the menu and that it keeping update all my favorite apps!
i teach all my friends to use this portable apps instead install them
show them the menu and show them how easy and convenient it is! :]
but i think i discovered small bug at java and all portable apps that need to install to \CommonFiles\SomePortableApp. when i change to the new directory it change to
path\SomePortableApp. i think it more convenient when i choose the path
it will be path\CommonFiles\SomePortableApp. that what you expect when you see
the init path that is \CommonFiles\SomePortableApp.
thank again for all your hard work!
keep doing it! :]
As Designed
This is the way NSIS works and it can only be specified as it is. As most people will install everything to X:\PortableApps and generally through the platform (where it's all automated anyway) it's not generally an issue.
But
just for this apps that require \commonFiles\PortableApp
that the default path will be this: \commonFiles\PortableApp only for them?
something to define at ini file no?
i think there is a simple elegant to this matter.
my default use when i install new app is not use in the automatic way.
i use the regular install way! :]
thank for your help
John
Don't use CommonFiles
Dont install apps to commonfiles. This is for very specific apps approved by PA.c
But
that was i taking about,
only for this apps
like jave, like Mingw i install to commonsFiles\Portableapps
there need to fix it!
