Thanks very much to ZGitRDun8705 for the sweet icon replacement, looks fantastic.
Works well, nothing left behind at all, this is quite the useful app. BTW, I like what you did with the icon, much better than the original whatever the heck it was

Good !
Works fine !
When will it be released ?
It's only been in testing for a few hours, be patient, give others more time to look at it and test it too. John had jury duty and all kinds of other fun stuff, so his plans to release 1 new app each day got delayed again.

I wonder if Steve's seen this

Thanks, I'll check it out.
I've been running this test version in a production environment for a couple of weeks now - no problems. This is a great app! Many thanks for porting it.
Can we expect to see a final release soon?!
Wow, this is great! I haven't tried the app yet, but I will. Vista removed the built-in clipboard viewer, for what reason I'll never know. It's good that I'll be able to see what's on the clipboard again!
Also: Thank you vhuD2hC for bumping this (no, I'm not being sarcastic, honest!), or I never would have known about this app...
Works for me - XP Pro - SP3
Thanks

yep - no probs for me yet - got XP 3 and all is well - I really needed this as well - thanks again, and if any probs come up, i will post.
One thing it seemed a tad slow to open(in comparison to other portableapps), but I will keep an eye on this
Cheers Dimitri
Stay Gold!
-= I Love PortableApps =-
Hi- the download link above goes to an error page. Is this app available? I think it would be very useful to me and would like to try it out. thanks
I too would really like to test this (but can't because of the above mentioned error). I have been using Ditto for a while at work, but would love to use it portably. Can I assume that with it being portable, the clipboard will travel with me? I hope so
It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.
It seems as if this has been dropped, (if i'm wrong then great :-)) but for those that are interested, the Ditto site has a portable version available. It just obviously won't have the PortableApps installer.
Here's the link (just look for "Portable (zip file)" under Downloads)

Patrick has been hanging around more than ever in the past year, in fact.
However, he's not going to lie to you and tell you he'll update this in the future so he'll let you take the lead.
And on that note, Oliver, please go ahead and take X-Chat. I'm sure you'll finally do some of the awesome stuff you kept hassling me about but I never got around to.
OK, thanks. Sorry Patrick, I didn't see you standing behind me there
:-)
While I have your attention, do you mind if I update this too?
Yep, go for it man.
Thanks Patrick. What a guy!

is there a way to see my history of copied text before i installed Ditto. where does vista store that kind information so Ditto can read it for me
Windows will only keep your last copied content in the clipboard, so there is not much history to speak of.

Really? i read on some website that makes clipboard cleaning apps that the clipboard takes up alot of memory so i figured that it made a history for itself. guess not, thanks for your swift reply
Is there a way to change the tray icon
I have never heard of a clipboard cleaner before, and IMHO I don't see the point in using one. You can easily "clear" what is in the clipboard by just copying something else into it (ie. a single character). Unless the cleaners clear app specific clipboards as well like the MS office clipboard, which does have a history.
If you are referring to the tray icon of Ditto, then no I don't think it can be changed. Why would you want to change it? In my case I turn off the tray icon in Ditto all together. You don't really need it as you have access to Ditto through a keyboard shortcut which is " CTRL + ~ " by default.

Well, i have most of my apps set to have tray icons so im use to clicking around the taskbar area and the other reason i would like to change the tray icon is because i cant make out what the default tray icon is suppose to be a picture of, it just looks like a bunch of lines and dots, i wanted to change it to Ditto's main app icon which is the clipboard icon
You can try asking the author of Ditto in the Ditto forums to make the tray icon configurable.
Other then that, the only way you would be able to change the tray icon on your own is to download the source and change it. Or you could try using a resource editor. XN Resource Editor is one that is available on here on PortableApps.com. I personally prefer this resource editor written by Melander. However I was unsuccessful in modifying the tray icon in Ditto portable using either one.
With XN I could only get the tray icon to be a blank icon. Using Melander's editor I could successfully change the icon but then got errors when trying to go into Ditto's options.
I did not have a lot of time to spend trying to change the icon, so you may have more success then I did if you play around with it a bit.
Good Luck

I used the XN resource editor and it seem to do the trick. Though there was plenty of trial and error. The main problem was trying to paste a 32-bit image into a 24-bit image, thats why it kept showing as a blank image but XN resource editor allows you to change the pixel format and necessary height and width so it was possible to paste into the right compatible format.
