Another good program, thank you! I like this one better than mp3Tag.
Did you have to do anything for registry, or was the program already OK with that?

No registry on this one, it's already portable really. All I did was add drive letter switching and PAF it up.
Yeah, it takes a bit more getting used to but you really have a lot more control with this one. I miss the ability to write a playlist at the end with Mp3tag though. And an undo button!
Glad you're finding it useful. And thanks for testing.
There's a button to "remove tags" which I've never tried.
I have routinely written "nothing" to a field - to clear it out - such as the Track Number on mp3s from a radio stream.
But there isn't any buffer/storage to save previous state to facilitate undo.
There is a tag export function that allows picking the data elements to export, including filepath and filename. That might do the trick?

Does this change the title name in MP4s?

Sorry, mp3 only
I just tried it.
I took an mp4 with no id3 tag, and had it make/write the tag (title and author) in the mp4 based on the filename.
Then I changed the filename and pushed the "Rename File" button and it renamed the mp4 to match the id3 tag.

OK, I stand corrected
You are correct.
I picked an mp4 from the File/Open menu.
It actually opened that directory (which is how it works).
I've been playing with programs to rip the audio from mp4 or flv video files. There was an identically named mp3 in that same directory.
It actually worked on THAT file, not the mp4.
Again, you are correct. Sorry!

Thanks for this man. I was looking something like this but portable. Awesome App~!

Hello!
First, great job on this project... the program itself is my favorite so far (better than MP3tag) and the portable installation has given me no problems (on both XP SP3 and Vista).
I just wanted to point out that opening the program with either directory or file arguments (both as %1, "%1", and the full name, with or without spaces and special characters in the filename) does not currently work. This is the only problem I've noticed (not sure whether this is something you guys can fix).
Keep up the good work.
The program won't accept them when run standalone either so there's no fix for it I'm afraid. I hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the portable version though
Sorry to say it doesn't work on Windows 2000 Pro. The OS is missing some of the right DLLs to run the program its self.
Other wise great work.
I haven't had the need so I don't know how it would work, but from the author's web site:

Do you think there's some DLL I should include? I presume everything is already in place on XP and later?
Although I'm starting to get calibre flashbacks just thinking about it...
I think that some of the older versions of Windows didn't have the required files. You might want to mention that in the write-up up top. Maybe show the download links like the author does.
If you are really being super picky, you could have a blurb in the portable install process, but who reads those anyway? Or I suppose you could treat it like a plug-in download and let the user decide if they need/want to install it or not. Either of these options seems to be too much effort for very little payoff.
But you know, this package has been posted for a while and this is the first complaint I've seen. It is either not a very common problem or everybody has been ignoring you (hehe, ducking and running)....

Yeah, it must be this new font, "invisible.ttf". Working great, obviously...
I have been using this program from my external hard drive for about a year, and the power and flexibility it gives for MP3 tagging and file renaming is outstanding. I would love to see this move out of the development stage.
Works great on Windows XP Pro SP3.
After looking at the home page, it looks like the developers haven't moved forward on this project for years. Maybe someone can take it up as well?
Thanks,
Scott Thomson

Fixed broken link. Thanks for telling me
and thanks for fixing it so quickly.
Actually, I had several tabs open for updating versions of your development tests and may have meant MP3Gain Portable that was the problem. Either way, I was able to download your updates of both.
Thanks again.
