Hi. I have 3 email accounts running off Thunderbird portable and one of them just gives me jibberish andrandom characters in place of the actual body of the message. I checked the mail on the server and the messages are fine there, but on Thunderbird they're not. Can anyone help?
Do you have show as ASCII set within TB? Or under View - Character Encoding, is it set wrong there?
I removed the bug from your title as this would be an issue within TB (most likely just a setting), but a bug in our portable package that we need to track.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
What setting should it be? It's set to Western ISO-8859-1 New mails to that address seem to be coming through just fine but the ones August 11th back are giving me the ASCII characters. When I click on an email with an attachment the attachment seems to disappear. I also notied that not all of them do it.
Does that make it any clearer?
is is from one particular person or email program? Like all of hotmail or something? Maybe a sender is sending something non-standard and it is being displayed as close as possible with the assci.
Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.
No it's the same from a wide range of different email addresses
Just to add... Some of the messages do not show any text in the text window. Some of the messages are like this at the beginning and then they are followed by the characters.
