Hi,
I like how GIMP portable is a reasonable substitute for Photoshop, but I was wondering if you knew of any portable software for video editing. Something like Final Cut, but doesn't have to be so feature-dense. Only thing I've found similar is Avideux (http://avidemux-portable.en.softonic.com/), but I've never used it before.
Also, I was wondering if there was a similar suite of portable apps like this, but for the Mac OSX platform?
Thanks.
Good luck finding decent free video editing software for windows, period.
Quamquam omniam nescio, nec nihil scio.
Well Sony Vegas is pretty popular last I heard. What about webapps (like in the Chrome store), any video editing software in there?
OK I seem to be having another problem. Every time I plug in my USB, the PortableApps menu settings (under Options) resets to default? Does it have something to do with the cache or something?
Thanks.
Are you properly closing the platform or ejecting your drive?
If you aren't, there is your problem. To keep writes to the drive at a minimum the platform only writes out its settings on close.
Blender, which is available as a PortableApp, has a video editing mode that is often used by animators and video people alike - but it's not as obvious as most dedicated video editing apps.
My current favorite Open Source video editing app is OpenShot. Unfortunately for Windows users, it's ONLY available for Linux.
I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
For video editing I always use portable Virtualdub.
It's available from here and is very good. I have never had any problems with it.
