I have grown weary of the monthly new versions that that have nothing different that
a higher version number. I was able to change my desktop back to 6.01 as I had a copy
of that on my hard disk. My question is: Where Can I Get a Copy of Either V5 or V6
Portable ? I think that five and six were the last versions that worked for me.

You can download virtually all of the versions of Firefox Portable at it's SourceForge repository.
However, it's not really recommended that you use a lower version (in fact you probably shouldn't) because they're less secure than the latest versions. Then again, I've grown fed up with constant updates as well, and I'm still back at 6.0.1.
And on a separate note, you should avoid posting your email like that as spambots will often look for those and target your email. Post something like my signature (below) if you want to share it next time, so you won't be surprised next time you check your inbox
