logoPortableApps.com is proud to announce the release of Scribus Portable 1.4.0. Scribus is an Open Source program that brings professional page layout to your desktop with a combination of press-ready output and new approaches to page design. Underneath a modern and user-friendly interface, Scribus supports professional publishing features, such as color separations, CMYK and Spot Color support, ICC color management, and versatile PDF creation. Ghostscript Portable, which Scribus uses for postscript and PDF handling, is also available. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotScribus has many unexpected touches, such as powerful vector drawing tools, support for a huge number of file types via import/export filters, emulation of color blindness or the rendering of markup languages like LaTeX or Lilypond inside Scribus. The Scribus file format is XML-based and open. Unlike proprietary binary file formats, even damaged documents can be recovered with a simple text editor - sometimes a challenging problem with other page layout programs. Scribus has been translated into more than 25 languages, and more are coming in the future.

New apps will be released when they are ready and when there is time. We still have catchup work from the holidays to be done. This was done now as it's been a long time coming with Scribus.

This is one of the most useful FOSS apps I've used, it's a well deserved addition to our Official list.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

Another app I never used but might give it a try because I learn about it from portableapps.com Smile

Good Afternoon Developers;

As another poster said, Awesome addition to the Portable Apps portfolio!

I have wanted to try Scribus for a long time. I read some monthly magazines that were published using this. They were professional in appearance and stunning is simply a understatement. What made them unique in my mind was they were downloadable in PDF Form or readable online all useing Scribus. So I downloaded Scribus and Ghostscript.

I had no idea that such a program was able to be portablized so to speak. Now I can take it with me and learn to use it where ever I am. My goal is to do a magazine for a Linux distribution I use. So once again thank you.

Thanks a lot for adding this app to the PA. I know, that a lot of people will be thankful about this.
