logoPortableApps.com and The Document Foundation are proud to announce the release of LibreOffice Portable 3.5.2. LibreOffice Portable is a full-featured office suite -- including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation tool, drawing package and database -- packaged as a portable app, so you can take all your documents and everything you need to work with them wherever you go. This release updates LibreOffice to the latest version. LibreOffice Portable is packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

LibreOffice Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Running LibreOffice 3.5.2 may result in an error on some Windows XP machines. As a temporary workaround, install the current Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtime on the local machine to alleviate the issue. A permanent solution within the portable package itself is being worked on.

Recently I added an extension to the "calc" function of LibreOffice. When I updated to 3.5.2 the extension isn't there. Is this common for LO? Is there something I could do to prevent this?

Please post complete details in the LibreOffice Portable support forum including install path, operating system version, what extension you added, and what version you upgraded from (likely 3.5.0) so we can have a couple folks assist you.

This might sound stupid but which Office Suite is better OpenOffice Or LibreOffice but also considering that they are portable which one is most full featured and compatible?

Most of the OpenOffice.org developers left to do LibreOffice and Oracle stopped work on it. Apache has OO.o now but hasn't done a stable release, so LibreOffice has more features and functionality. And it is likely to stay that way since, due to licensing issues, LibreOffice can add any feature OO.o introduces but OO.o can't use anything LO introduces.
