AIMP - Free Audio Player
AIMP is not open source. The publisher has refused permission to repackage it in other formats.

Thank you so much.
I too really like AIMP3. Would it be possible to use an online installer to do this? Or is permission still required for online installers?
It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.
How about Winamp? I know that's also freeware.

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
Winamp works very slow. Aimp plays music files only and it works very fast. It has IDtag changer, music library and online radio browser. Support more than 20 languages.
Winamp do the same... for you to know !!!!
winamp can play video files. So it's very slow. Please use Aimp once. You can see it's speed. Aimp is simple but useful. I suggest it.
I am using vlc as player in portable form, but just curious what does the speed mean in case of music players?
Will the music be played faster or where should I notice any difference between 'speed' of music players?
After all they either play music or do not play music.

If it is speed you are after in a music player, try CoolPlayer+ Portable.
Not much in the way of features, but it is the fastest, most responsive music player I have used.
CoolPlayer Portable was crashed. It is not working stable. When I add music it is crashing. =/
As stated above, this is not possible.

any portable version?
Read the first comment to this thread. There is your answer.
The publisher has since granted permission and there is a test release elsewhere in the forums.

I have been repacking Aimp as a portableapp for my own personal use only. nothing fancy just running the installer, selecting portable version, then filling in any data that I could ( as I'm a novice at this stuff), making sure I have everything I could in a portableapps formats eg directories, ini files etc. and it seems to run without fail.
Please try to be tolerant with me,I would like to be able to contribute to communities like this one, I just don't have the talent or knowledge yet. So if you help me now, I may be able to help others later!
