After the previous updating, this announce appeared: "Another instance of LibreOffice Portable is starting. Please wait for it to start before launching it again." I waited this last update, hoping to get rid of this announce, and to be able to use LibreOffice Portable. Deception! Same announce appeared. What should I do to overcome this hurdle? Best regards, Miehs

-P.S. I tried also to install it on PortableApps.com Platform 1.1, which I still held on my removable Harddisk, and it worked well. I presume the problem is with PortableApps.com Platform 10.0.

I've upgraded the previous version on my pen drive and I've the same problem.

I've installed this version (new installation) on my HD and all is OK

That's a different issue. It means your old copy crashed at one point (often due to shutting down Windows without closing apps which causes Windows to crash them). You can reset it by browsing to the LibreOfficePortable\Data directory and deleting the runtime INI file. If that fails, you can reset the app by deleting the Data directory which will return it to fresh install state (resetting all settings, etc).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hi John, excuse me first for my request but it's for an important cause.
I'm working for disbled people and I need your help.
I need a command line switch to silent install Libreoffice package.
I will use a simple batch file.
If there are no switches please suggest me a way to automatically install this package.
I need to manage only this executable, not the entire platform.

I hope in your useful reply.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Lorry

P.S. I've already posted same request here: https://portableapps.com/node/32410
So excuse me for duplicating.

I deleted the runtime INI file and now it works fine! Thank you for the friendly answer. Miehs

I installed the libreoffice upgrade on June 2, and trying to start the application results in an exception in msvcr90.dll at offset 0002e9f4. Clearly, this is the result of a programming error, or incorrect version of the Microsoft Visual C Runtime dll. This error occurs shortly after a startup message about enabling the Danish dictionary in the LibreOffice splash.
A popup appears, submitting an error report to Microsoft, who, I am sure, is going to print the error report and wipe their backsides with it. Usual fate of non-Microsoft products, and most Microsoft products, if the truth be told. I am sorry, I am unable to cut and paste the content of the error report. If further information is needed, contact me, and I will write it down and submit a copy. This error is 100% percent repeatable, and does not occur with the non-portable 3.5.4 versions, also installed on this system. I have not tried the portable on another system, I will do that later.

Hi John,

I reported this error in the forums which another user was able to replicate:

https://portableapps.com/node/32177

LibreOffice 3.5.3 and now 3.5.4 reports the java runtime which is currently
7 update 4.1 as defective.

I can reproduce this error wherever I install LibreOffice or jportable. I wish I couldn't but I can.

Is there a rational explanation for this?

Is there any hope?

Thanks,
Hugh
