Hello,

After a upgrade, LO won't start it displays the following 2 errors:

Fatal Error:
Unhandeled exception:
InvalidRegistryException:
file:///D:/LibreOfficePortable/App/libreoffice/program/../share/extensions/pdfimport/components.rdb:duplicate

and

Runtime Error!
D:\LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\program\soffice.bin
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an usual way.

'Tried deleting the user files, no success. Tried complete delete & reinstalling, no success. Any tips?

Visual C++ Runtime

That usually indicates that the local PC is missing the proper Visual C++ runtime or has a corrupted copy. Try running the vcredist_x86.exe installer/updater within the LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice directory.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Not Entirely

Windows update will push out security fixes for it, I believe. If you're on Vista, 7 or 8, it should be pre-installed, but could have been corrupted. If you're on Windows XP, the launcher should have notified you if it wasn't already installed. Unless it was installed and corrupted.

LO crashes under Win7

conditions:
All portable apps sit in a directory inside of dropbox and are synced by dropbox.
Dropbox sync is done with 3 pc's: Home Win7, Laptop Win7, Work WinXP
OL will load (takes much longer then usual but does) on WinXP PC. OL will not load on either Win 7 pc. Displays C++ error and closes
This problem started after OL was upgrade to 3.6 from 3.5.

I installed vcredist_x86.exe just now with 'success' message at the end of install, retried OL under Win7 and same error.

Is there still a link to OL 3.5 I could download to test to ensure it is only an issue with 3.6? - and so I can get get back to work Smile

Update

I just read here:
https://portableapps.com/node/34258

that there is an issue with path length.

I changed:
C:\Dropbox\MyStuff\PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable

to:
C:\Dropbox\MyStuff\PortableApps\LO

and no more error. Thank you.

a little more info

Both Win7 machines are 64 bit and the XP is 32 so it might be less of a 7 vs XP issue and more of a 64 vs 32 bit issue.
