Moving Thunderbird from XP to 7

I use the portable version run locally-from a folder named PortableApps(thanks john) and will be getting a windows 7 PC soon, how do I copy the application and where?Should I just create the same named folder on 7 and copy it to there?
Thanks

yes

just do not place the new folder into program files as this will not work properly under w7.
Also some extensions could need reinstall or update after the move if the path did change.

Anywhere

Most apps will work independently of where you put them, but I'd suggest keeping the same path (so, if they're currently on C:\PortableApps, keep it that way). And yes, you can also copy them to a flash drive but, depending on the speed of the drive, some apps may become very slow.
