Since I prefer not to use the single window display so I can open two images side-by-side (like 'before' and 'during/after' editing) I would like to be able to lock the Toolbox and Layers windows together so I can slide them out of the way quickly (small screen). Even better would be one of those '-' thingy buttons that sends the window to the taskbar.
It's all or nothing, really. Each GIMP sub-window is self-sufficient. You could combine all your tools in one window, if you'd like. But that's about it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
How would I do that - combine all my tools in one window? (I tried something like that yesterday and things really went sideways - had to start all over with a new install of Gimp.)
Finally figured it out. I was trying to move stuff from the Toolbox to the Layers window. When I did it the right way it worked.
