No one seems to have thought of this problem.
Firefox (regular) can import profile from other browsers
but NOT from Firefox PORTABLE.
And if you paste the portable file folder contents
into the Firefox regular profile folder
it just freezes up.
HOW CAN ONE MIGRATE FROM PORTABLE to REGULAR ????

I believe that if you backup your Firefox Portable's profile you should be able to import/load that profile into a local (regular) Firefox.
There are ways to manually copy the profile, but there are programs out there that will do it for you.
I've used MozBackup in the past to copy profiles between Firefox Portable and Firefox Beta Portable. Actually, I used the MozBackup Portable (1.5.1) from the Beta forums.

Can't you just copy the profile folders from ...
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
... and then paste them into the new Firefox\Profiles folder?
