Has anybody had any success adding USB 3.0 to their computer? My computer is a Dell Studio XPS 7100 that I purchased last year (2011). I know you can buy PCI-E to USB3.0 cards that will do the job, and my computer has 2 available PCI-E slots. Also, I'm wanting to bring the ports up front where there is an empty 3.5" bay.
Any suggestions? This would be a nice compliment to all the new USB 3.0 devices coming out, not to mention the PortableApps.com Companion that I have.
Thanks,
Al ....
I added it to my older quad-core HP box via a PCIe card and it works reasonably well. You should review the cards to ensure you get a high-speed one with available plugs on the card to add an up-front bay to. The card I got was only about average so doesn't have the best speeds.

Thanks for the reply, John. I've been looking at a Western Digital card from Amazon.com . This card had the highest customer reviews (159) and required no power. It only had two rear USB 3.0 outputs, but that's OK with me. The front ports would need to have USB cords coming from the rear of the computer, through the case, and connecting to the front ports.
