Cant connect through school computers

I cant get my portable firefox to connect to the net through my school computers. Why not? I tried xfire portable to see if it would connect and it didnt. Whats wrong?

I would say

Your school has a proxy. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Internet Settings > Internet Explorer > Connectivity > Proxy

I also use Portable Firefox at my school, as the computers there are still running IE6... I would recommend the FoxyProxy extension to solve your problem. It allows you to create more than one proxy, and to select which one you want to use without having to change it on Firefox every single time: all you have to do is click on the FoxyProxy button on the toolbar and select a preset proxy :).
