First I want to say thanks to John Haller and the rest of the team for a great product.
Second I would like to say yes I have searched the forum and read the other posts related to this.
I am a senior tech with a State University, however, I am not a coder. My specialties are desktop and server support, active directory domains, group policies, data recovery, etc. I was dinged recently by our auditors because the portable apps menu I use has the logo and banner which is considered an advertisement, which is not allowed on state equipment. Ridiculous I know, but in order to keep using the software I have to get the logo and icon off of the top of the menu. Everything I have read indicates that I have to edit, and recompile the source code, but I don't have a CLUE how to do that. Does anybody have a walk-through that can help me out?
Thanks again!
Richard
Switch to the beta channel. It has a simple small branding in the lower right that is the same size as a standard app's icon in a regular window. There is no more banner up top in the beta channel. This will become the standard branding/look in 12.0 stable as well. It's 'branding' in the same way that an app with a regular window's icon and titlebar are branding.

John, Again much thanks. That should appease the auditors.

You're welcome, Richard

If the auditors still give you crap about the logo, you can try this little tool that removes the logo from the top. It has some issue with the current version 12 beta (and doesn't get rid of the logo on the bottom right of the beta) but it worked splendidly in 11.0.
